Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pentaxim + Euvax B refers to a combination immunization regimen consisting of two separate vaccine products developed by Sanofi Pasteur: Pentaxim (a pentavalent vaccine) and Euvax B (a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine). Pentaxim provides active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). It contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid and filamentous haemagglutinin), inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, and Hib capsular polysaccharide conjugated to tetanus protein (PRP-T). Euvax B provides protection against hepatitis B and contains the recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). In clinical research, this specific co-administration regimen is frequently utilized as a standard-of-care comparator to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of newer, fully liquid hexavalent vaccines like Hexaxim.
