Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PEP + TISSEEL is a biologic combination therapy developed by RION Inc., consisting of a Purified Exosome Product (PEP) and the TISSEEL fibrin sealant. PEP is a shelf-stable, lyophilized product derived from human platelets that contains stabilized regenerative exosomes. These exosomes are designed to accelerate wound healing by releasing bioactive transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) into the wound bed, promoting cell growth and angiogenesis while reducing inflammation. The TISSEEL component acts as a fibrin sealant and scaffold for the exosomes. The combination is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of chronic radiation ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and rotator cuff injuries.
