Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of PEP-3 vaccine (a synthetic peptide vaccine targeting EGFRvIII), sargramostim (GM-CSF, an immune stimulant), and temozolomide (an oral alkylating chemotherapy agent). This regimen is primarily studied for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme. The PEP-3 vaccine consists of a 13-amino acid peptide conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) to enhance immunogenicity. Sargramostim is used as an adjuvant to boost immune response, while temozolomide provides direct cytotoxic effects against tumor cells.
