Overview

PepCan is a therapeutic vaccine candidate developed for the treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) 16-positive cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2/3. The vaccine formulation consists of four synthetic long peptides (SLPs) covering the entire sequence of the HPV 16 E6 oncoprotein. It is administered intradermally with *Candida albicans* skin test antigen, which serves as a novel adjuvant to enhance the cellular immune response. By stimulating HPV 16 E6-specific T-cell activity, PepCan aims to induce the regression of high-grade cervical lesions and clear persistent HPV infection. The vaccine was developed by researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
