PepGNP-Dengue is a synthetic, nanoparticle-based T-cell priming peptide vaccine developed by Gylden Pharma (formerly Emergex Vaccines) for the prevention of Dengue fever. The vaccine utilizes a gold nanoparticle (GNP) platform to deliver a cocktail of synthetic peptides representing conserved regions across all four Dengue virus (DENV) serotypes. Unlike traditional vaccines that primarily aim to induce neutralizing antibodies, PepGNP-Dengue is designed to prime naive CD8+ T-cells to generate virus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). These CTLs identify and eliminate infected cells before productive viral replication can occur, potentially providing broad protection while mitigating the risk of antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE). The candidate has completed Phase I clinical testing, demonstrating a favorable safety profile and the induction of specific T-cell memory subsets.
