Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Peptivet Oto is a topical otic product line developed by Nextmune for the management of otitis and various ear conditions in companion animals, specifically dogs and cats. The formulation features a synergistic combination of AMP2041, a synthetic antimicrobial peptide, and Tris-EDTA. AMP2041 works by disrupting the cell membranes of ear pathogens, including bacteria and fungi, while Tris-EDTA enhances the permeability of bacterial cell walls to facilitate antimicrobial action. Beyond its antimicrobial properties, the product contains Zinc PCA, Vitamin PP (niacinamide), and GPI Lysine, which provide anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and soothing effects to help restore the skin barrier and maintain the physiological balance of the ear canal. It is available in both gel and ear drop (solution) formulations for topical administration.
