Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PeptOss** is an investigational bone regeneration product being developed by Bone Sci Bio for orthopedic and dental applications. It is a **biologic peptide-based biomaterial** built around the proprietary short peptide **PFD5**, invented at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. PFD5 is designed to mimic proteins of the bone extracellular matrix and self-assemble into a hydrogel; when combined with calcium phosphate particles, the material promotes biomineralization of hydroxyapatite to support bone formation and repair. The platform is also intended to function as a local sustained-delivery matrix for agents such as antibiotics or chemotherapeutics over several weeks. The lead stated indication is **peri-implantitis**, with additional proposed applications including bone strengthening in osteoporosis and local chemotherapy delivery for osteosarcoma.
