Overview
PER302 is an oral enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) being developed by Perseo Pharma for the treatment of Acquired Lactase Deficiency (ALD). The drug candidate utilizes Perseo's proprietary nanotechnology platform, which involves a "nano-shield" that protects the lactase enzyme from degradation in the gastrointestinal tract. This technology is designed to bind the enzyme to the mucus of the small intestine, ensuring localized delivery and activity where dietary lactose digestion occurs. By replacing the deficient lactase enzyme, PER302 aims to alleviate the gastrointestinal symptoms associated with lactose intolerance.
