Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Peregrine System Kit is an investigational drug-device combination developed by Ablative Solutions, Inc. for the treatment of hypertension. It consists of the Peregrine System Infusion Catheter and dehydrated alcohol, which acts as a neurolytic agent. The system is designed to perform alcohol-mediated renal denervation by delivering microdoses of dehydrated alcohol into the periadventitial space of the renal arteries. This chemical ablation targets the afferent and efferent sympathetic nerve bundles that contribute to blood pressure regulation. The system has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials, including the TARGET BP I trial, which met its primary endpoint by showing a statistically significant reduction in 24-hour ambulatory systolic blood pressure compared to a sham control in patients with uncontrolled hypertension.
