Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Peresolimab is an investigational humanized immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), a checkpoint inhibitory receptor. By stimulating PD-1, peresolimab may induce physiological immune inhibitory pathways to restore immune homeostasis. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, with rheumatoid arthritis as its lead indication. Clinical trials have shown that peresolimab can reduce disease activity in patients with moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis who have had insufficient response to conventional therapies, including biologics and DMARDs. The drug has demonstrated a safety profile comparable to placebo in clinical studies[2][4][5][6].
