Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Perflutren lipid microspheres are an ultrasound contrast agent formulated as a microbubble injectable suspension for intravenous administration. This agent is used in patients with suboptimal echocardiograms to enhance the visualization of cardiac structures. It works by opacifying the left ventricular chamber and improving the delineation of the left ventricular endocardial border. The suspension requires an activation process prior to use.
