Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PERFUDOM is a range of sterile, non-pyrogenic intravenous solutions containing anhydrous glucose (dextrose) in concentrations of 5% or 10%. Developed and manufactured by the French pharmaceutical laboratory Bioluz, these solutions are indicated for intravenous fluid therapy, rehydration, and as an adjunct for parenteral caloric support. The 5% solution provides approximately 200 kcal/L, while the 10% solution offers a higher concentration of dextrose for increased caloric intake. PERFUDOM is used to prevent intracellular and extracellular dehydration and serves as a vehicle or diluent for the administration of compatible therapeutic drugs during the perioperative period. The mechanism of action involves the direct intravenous supply of free water and metabolic energy through glucose administration.
