Perinatal tissue-derived stem cells are a cell therapy product consisting of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) isolated from perinatal tissues, specifically the placenta and umbilical cord. Developed by Beijing Boya Research Institution (Boyalife Pharma), these cells are being investigated for their regenerative and immunomodulatory potential. The therapeutic approach leverages the ability of MSCs to home to sites of injury, secrete bioactive molecules that promote tissue repair, and modulate immune system activity to treat inflammatory and degenerative conditions. The clinical pipeline includes applications for premature aging (progeria), osteoarthritis, premature ovarian failure, systemic lupus erythematosus, and scleroderma, as well as cosmetic anti-aging treatments.
