Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Perineline is a two-part, non-surgical therapy developed by NeuroSolv Therapeutics for the treatment of spinal cord injury. The therapy consists of an oral medication combined with neural signaling interventions. Its mechanism of action involves temporarily removing the protective perineuronal nets (PNNs) and signal-blocking glial scars on the surface of spinal cord neurons. By modulating these inhibitory structures, Perineline aims to enable the creation of new synapses and promote neural repair and regeneration in both acute and chronic cases of spinal cord injury. The drug has received Orphan Drug Designation from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and is being prepared for clinical trials in the United States.
