PerioChip Plus

**PerioChip Plus** is an investigational locally administered periodontal chip formulation containing **flurbiprofen** and **chlorhexidine** for treatment of adult periodontitis. It was developed by Dexcel Pharma as a combination local therapy intended to reduce periodontal probing pocket depth through complementary anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. Flurbiprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes and reduces prostaglandin-mediated inflammation, while chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic that disrupts bacterial cell membranes. PerioChip Plus was evaluated in a completed randomized Phase 2 study against chlorhexidine-only PerioChip, a flurbiprofen-only chip, and placebo chip.
