Perioscience Gel

Perioscience Gel (brand name: AO ProVantage Gel) is a topical antioxidant dental gel developed by PerioSciences, LLC. It is formulated with a patented blend of antioxidants, primarily phloretin and ferulic acid, along with essential oils (including peppermint oil, thymol, sage oil, and clove flower oil) and Xylitol. Designed for direct application to the oral soft tissues (gums, lips, palate, and cheeks), the gel works by neutralizing free radicals and reducing oxidative stress in the mouth, thereby combating inflammation, supporting the natural salivary defense system, and promoting tissue healing. It is utilized as a soothing adjunct after routine dental hygiene visits, periodontal therapy, or oral surgery, and is also used to manage conditions such as periodontitis, gingivitis, dry mouth (xerostomia), canker sores, and oral lichen planus. In clinical trials, it has been evaluated as an adjunctive treatment to scaling and root planing (SRP) in patients with periodontitis.
