Overview

Reelin Therapeutics is developing a biological molecule designed to modulate and decrease levels of Reelin in the plasma to treat chronic inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. While Reelin is a glycoprotein essential for brain development, peripheral Reelin has been identified as a pro-inflammatory mediator that promotes leukocyte adhesion, trafficking, and endothelial dysfunction. By specifically targeting and reducing Reelin levels in the blood, the therapy aims to restore immune balance and mitigate neuroinflammation in conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and Multiple Sclerosis, as well as systemic inflammation in Rheumatoid Arthritis. This approach is intended to provide therapeutic benefit without crossing the blood-brain barrier or compromising the protein's vital functions within the central nervous system. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
