Perisolv

Perisolv is a topical antiseptic cleaning gel composed of sodium hypochlorite activated with amino acids, which creates a chloramine-based formulation. Developed by Regedent AG and clinically evaluated in studies at the University of Witten/Herdecke, it is designed as an adjunctive therapy for the non-surgical treatment of periodontitis. The gel functions as a 'biofilm eraser' by chemically altering and softening the bacterial biofilm matrix within periodontal pockets. This action facilitates the more effective mechanical removal of bacteria and debris during subgingival scaling and root planing (SRP). In clinical practice, Perisolv is often applied subgingivally for 30–45 seconds prior to instrumentation and is frequently used in combination with cross-linked hyaluronic acid (such as hyaDent BG) to enhance tissue healing and pocket depth reduction.
