Persea americana leaf phenolic extract is a botanical preparation derived from the leaves of the avocado tree (*Persea americana*). It contains a complex profile of bioactive phenolic compounds, including syringic acid, kaempferol, catechin, and epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate. The extract is primarily studied for its anti-diabetic potential, which is mediated through the inhibition of key carbohydrate-metabolizing enzymes, specifically alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase. By inhibiting these enzymes, the extract helps to slow the digestion of dietary carbohydrates and reduce postprandial blood glucose levels.
