This personalized mRNA neoantigen vaccine is an investigational cancer immunotherapy developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to target the unique mutations, or neoantigens, present in an individual patient's tumor. The process involves genomic sequencing of the patient's cancer cells to identify these specific mutations, followed by the synthesis of an mRNA sequence that encodes the corresponding neoantigens. Once administered, the patient's cells translate the mRNA into proteins, which are then presented to the immune system to prime and activate T-cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT06735508) in combination with the PD-L1 inhibitor adebrelimab for the treatment of resectable or recurrent/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
