This personalized mRNA tumor vaccine is an investigational biological therapy developed by Xinxin Zhang for the treatment of refractory rhabdomyosarcoma. The vaccine is engineered using messenger RNA technology to encode tumor-specific antigens unique to an individual patient's malignancy. Upon administration, the mRNA is translated into proteins that serve as antigens, stimulating the patient's immune system—specifically T-cells—to recognize and eliminate rhabdomyosarcoma cells. It is currently being evaluated in an early phase 1 exploratory clinical trial (NCT06932861) focusing on safety and feasibility in pediatric and adult patients (aged 6 and older) with no other viable treatment options.
