This is a personalized neoantigen-based cancer vaccine being developed by the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) for the treatment of gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma and gastric adenocarcinoma. The vaccine is a biologic immunotherapy that uses tumor-specific mutations (neoantigens) identified from each patient's individual cancer to create a customized vaccine designed to train the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. The personalized vaccine is being evaluated in a Phase I/II clinical trial in combination with nivolumab, an anti-PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor antibody, for adults with upper gastrointestinal tract cancers. The vaccine targets patient-specific tumor neoantigens and aims to boost T cell responses against the cancer. This investigational therapy is being studied through UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center and the San Diego Center for Precision Immunotherapy as part of their personalized immunotherapy research program.
