Overview
Persumac is an investigational Persian traditional herbal remedy composed of equal proportions of semi-ground **Rhus coriaria** fruit and **Bunium persicum** fruit. It was evaluated as an oral adjunct to standard antiemetic therapy for refractory chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in women with breast cancer receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study, the preparation was associated with reductions in most measured nausea and vomiting frequency and severity outcomes, although acute-phase nausea severity was not significantly improved.
