Overview
Persumac is an Iranian traditional herbal remedy composed of a powdered mixture of sumac (Rhus coriaria) and Bunium persicum (also known as black cumin or black zira). It has been studied for its potential anti-emetic effects, particularly in the management of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in cancer patients. Clinical trials suggest that Persumac may reduce both the number and severity of nausea and vomiting episodes in patients with refractory CINV. The mechanism is not fully elucidated but is presumed to involve anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, or gastrointestinal-modulating properties attributed to its plant-based components[1][2][3][5].
