Overview
Pertagen + Td-pur is a combination vaccine regimen evaluated in clinical trials (such as NCT02946190) for booster immunization in adolescents and adults. It consists of Pertagen, a novel acellular pertussis vaccine developed by BioNet-Asia that contains a genetically detoxified recombinant pertussis toxin (rPT), and Td-pur, a standard vaccine providing protection against tetanus and diphtheria. The use of genetically detoxified rPT in Pertagen is intended to preserve the natural conformational epitopes of the toxin, potentially eliciting a more effective immune response than traditional chemically detoxified pertussis vaccines. This combination is administered via intramuscular injection to prevent pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, and diphtheria.
