Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Poherdy + Hercessi is a combination of two HER2-targeted monoclonal antibody biosimilars: Poherdy (pertuzumab-dpzb) and Hercessi (trastuzumab-strf). Poherdy is an interchangeable biosimilar to Perjeta (pertuzumab), developed by Shanghai Henlius Biotech and commercialized in partnership with Organon. Hercessi is a biosimilar to Herceptin (trastuzumab), developed by Shanghai Henlius Biotech and commercialized in partnership with Accord BioPharma. Both monoclonal antibodies target the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) but bind to different extracellular domains (subdomain II for pertuzumab and subdomain IV for trastuzumab), providing synergistic inhibition of HER2-mediated signaling and tumor cell proliferation. The combination is indicated, alongside chemotherapy, for the treatment of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer, including metastatic breast cancer, and as neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy for early-stage or locally advanced breast cancer. Both agents are administered via intravenous infusion.
