Overview

PETD2 is a preclinical-stage peptide-based bi-functional molecule developed by 1Up Therapeutics for the treatment of prostate cancer. The drug is built on the company's proprietary Protein-specific E3 ligase Targeted Degradation (PETD) platform, which utilizes bifunctional peptides to recruit specific E3 ubiquitin ligases to a target protein for proteasomal degradation. PETD2 is specifically designed to target the Androgen Receptor (AR), a key driver of prostate cancer progression. By inducing the degradation of the AR protein rather than merely inhibiting its activity, PETD2 aims to overcome resistance mechanisms associated with traditional androgen receptor antagonists, particularly in advanced or castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).
