Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PEV2A + PEV2B is a therapeutic vaccine candidate developed by Pevion Biotech AG for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The vaccine utilizes a combination of Pevion's proprietary PeviPRO and PeviTER platforms to induce a comprehensive cellular immune response. PEV2A is a virosome-formulated component designed to stimulate a CD4+ helper T-cell response, while PEV2B consists of two virosome-formulated components targeting a CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response. By delivering synthetic peptide antigens derived from the hepatitis C virus via virosomes, the vaccine aims to overcome the immune tolerance often seen in chronic HCV infection. Clinical development reached Phase I trials but the program has since been discontinued.
