Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PEV3A** is an investigational, two-component *Plasmodium falciparum* malaria vaccine developed using Pevion's influenza virosome antigen-delivery platform. It is a fixed formulation containing virosomally displayed synthetic peptide mimetics of the blood-stage apical membrane antigen 1 and the pre-erythrocytic circumsporozoite protein: AMA49-C1 and UK-39, respectively. The vaccine was evaluated by intramuscular administration in Phase I and Phase I/IIa controlled human malaria challenge studies, where it induced antigen-specific antibody responses and evidence of reduced blood-stage parasite growth but did not provide sterile protection.
