Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PEV7 is a first-in-class therapeutic virosomal vaccine developed for the treatment of recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC). Developed by Pevion Biotech, the vaccine utilizes a virosome-based delivery system to present antigens from *Candida albicans*, aiming to stimulate a protective immune response in pre-menopausal women. The vaccine was evaluated in Phase I clinical trials using both intramuscular (PEV7B) and intravaginal (PEV7C) administration routes. In 2011, CSL Limited entered into an agreement for the right of first refusal to commercialize the product in Australia and New Zealand.
