Overview

PF-06669571 is a novel, orally administered small molecule that acts as a partial agonist of the dopamine D1 receptor. It was developed by Pfizer for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and cognition disorders. The drug was designed to address unmet medical needs in Parkinson's disease by targeting dopaminergic pathways through selective activation of the D1 receptor, which is implicated in motor control and cognitive function. Clinical studies demonstrated that multiple daily doses were safe and well tolerated but did not meet pre-specified efficacy endpoints for significant improvement in motor symptoms or cognition. Development has been discontinued for both indications.
