Overview

**PF-06936308**, also called **VBIR-2**, was a Pfizer-developed vaccine-based cancer immunotherapy regimen evaluated in a Phase 1 study for advanced non-small cell lung cancer and metastatic triple-negative breast cancer. The regimen used a chimpanzee adenovirus serotype 68 vector vaccine prime and a plasmid-DNA booster encoding undisclosed tumor-associated antigens, together with the checkpoint inhibitors tremelimumab and sasanlimab. The vaccine components were intended to induce tumor-antigen-specific T-cell responses, while tremelimumab and sasanlimab were intended to relieve CTLA-4- and PD-1-mediated immune checkpoint suppression, respectively. The study was stopped early because of a Pfizer development-strategy change.
