PF-07209326

PF-07209326 is a novel investigational antibody developed by Pfizer as an E-selectin (SELE) antagonist. Its primary mechanism of action is the inhibition of E-selectin, a cell adhesion molecule involved in the recruitment of leukocytes to sites of inflammation and implicated in the pathophysiology of sickle cell disease. By blocking E-selectin, PF-07209326 was intended to reduce or prevent vaso-occlusive crises (painful episodes) in patients with sickle cell anemia. The drug was granted orphan drug status for this indication but has not received regulatory approval and its development has been discontinued following completion of phase 1 clinical trials[1][4][7][9].
