Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PF-07872412 is a next-generation pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine (PCV) under development by Pfizer for the prevention of invasive disease and pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. The vaccine is designed for use in both pediatric and adult populations and aims to provide broader protection against pneumococcal serotypes than currently available vaccines. As a conjugate vaccine, it consists of capsular polysaccharides from multiple pneumococcal serotypes, each covalently linked to a carrier protein to stimulate a robust, T-cell dependent immune response. PF-07872412 has received Fast Track designation from the U.S. FDA and is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
