Overview

PF1806 is a long-acting biologic therapeutic being developed by ImmunoForge for the treatment of Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS). The drug consists of a glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) analogue, specifically teduglutide, genetically fused to ImmunoForge's proprietary Elastin-Like Polypeptide (ELP) platform. This fusion technology is designed to significantly extend the drug's half-life, potentially enabling a once-weekly dosing schedule compared to the daily injections required by current GLP-2 therapies. By agonizing the GLP-2 receptor (GLP-2R), PF1806 promotes intestinal adaptation, increases villus height, and enhances nutrient absorption. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that this fusion protein has a significantly greater effect on small intestine growth in normal rats compared to teduglutide alone.
