PF9001 is a novel methadone prodrug developed by Ensysce Biosciences for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). It leverages Ensysce's proprietary Trypsin-Activated Abuse Protection (TAAP) and Multi-Pill Abuse Resistance (MPAR) technologies to provide a safer alternative to traditional methadone therapy. The design aims to reduce the risk of cardiotoxicity, respiratory depression, and overdose—key limitations of current methadone treatments.
