Overview

PFKR is a humanized monoclonal antibody being developed by Chiome Bioscience for the treatment of secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). It targets CX3CR1 (also known as the fractalkine receptor), a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the migration of immune cells to sites of inflammation. By inhibiting CX3CR1, PFKR aims to reduce neuroinflammation associated with SPMS. In November 2024, Chiome Bioscience entered into an exclusive license agreement with Asahi Kasei Pharma for the development and commercialization of the drug. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
