PfPEBS-LSP (Plasmodium falciparum Pre-Erythrocytic and Blood Stage - Long Synthetic Peptide) is an investigational malaria vaccine candidate developed by Vac4All. It is a synthetic peptide-based subunit vaccine adjuvanted with aluminium hydroxide. The vaccine targets the PfPEBS antigen, which is expressed during both the pre-erythrocytic (liver) and erythrocytic (blood) stages of the *P. falciparum* parasite life cycle. By targeting multiple stages, the vaccine aims to provide comprehensive protection against both initial infection and clinical disease. A Phase I/IIa clinical trial (NCT01605786, PEBS-POC1) was planned in the Netherlands to evaluate safety, immunogenicity, and efficacy using a controlled human malaria infection (CHMI) model, but the study was never initiated.
