PG-102

PG-102 is a novel bispecific Fc-fused protein agonist targeting both the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) and glucagon-like peptide 2 receptor (GLP-2R). Developed by ProGen, it is designed for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes. The drug acts as a dual GLP-1/GLP-2 agonist, aiming to improve body composition and glycemic control. Preclinical studies have shown that PG-102 offers superior efficacy in weight loss and metabolic improvement compared to other agents such as tirzepatide. Clinical trials indicate that subcutaneous administration of PG-102 results in significant weight reduction with a favorable safety profile—primarily mild gastrointestinal side effects typical for this class. The drug’s prolonged pharmacokinetic profile allows for flexible dosing intervals ranging from weekly to monthly injections.
