Overview

PG511 is an investigational small molecule developed by Celon Pharma S.A. for the treatment of neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders, including schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, and levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID) in Parkinson's disease. It is part of a next-generation series of compounds being evaluated in clinical trials alongside PG521 and PG531. These candidates are being compared to PG203 (also known as CPL500036), Celon Pharma's established phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) inhibitor. PDE10A is an enzyme highly expressed in the striatum that regulates cyclic nucleotide signaling pathways critical for motor control and cognitive function. By inhibiting PDE10A, PG511 aims to modulate dopaminergic and glutamatergic neurotransmission, potentially providing antipsychotic efficacy and reducing motor complications associated with long-term levodopa therapy without the side effects typical of direct dopamine receptor antagonists.
