PGSXC-L1A is an investigational cell therapy developed by PrimeGen US for the treatment of acute alcoholic hepatitis and acute liver failure. The therapy is based on the proprietary stemXcell platform, which utilizes mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from human umbilical cord tissue. These MSCs undergo a "triple activation" process designed to enhance their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and tissue-regenerative properties. The platform works by isolating and harnessing pro-inflammatory signals specific to the disease environment to activate the MSCs, which then counteract systemic inflammation and promote liver tissue repair upon administration. As of late 2025, the program has completed a Pre-IND meeting with the FDA and is in preclinical development.
