Overview

PH-10 is a topical hydrogel formulation developed by Provectus Pharmaceuticals, containing rose bengal disodium, a small molecule belonging to the class of halogenated xanthenes. It is designed for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. The drug functions by undergoing photochemical reactions when activated by ambient light, leading to the down-regulation and normalization of various disease-related genes, including IL-17A, IL-22, IL-26, IL-36, keratin 16, IL-23, S100A7, IL-19, and CXCL1, and modulating pathways involving IL-17, IL-22, and interferons, thereby ameliorating skin inflammation.
