Overview

Ph-LN phage is a genetically engineered filamentous fd phage designed as a tumor-targeting immunotherapeutic bionanofibre. It is engineered to display two distinct peptides: one that binds to the extracellular domain of Programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) and another that targets melanoma tissues and cancer cells. By homing to the tumor microenvironment and binding PD-L1 on cancer cells, the phage effectively blocks the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction, thereby triggering a targeted immune response against the tumor. This approach aims to reduce the systemic side effects associated with non-targeted PD-L1 blockers. The phages are produced cost-effectively via bacterial replication and represent a flexible platform for targeting different cancer types and immune checkpoints.
