Overview

PH051 is an investigational protein degrader developed by Suzhou Puzheng Pharma (also known as Puhe Biopharma) for the treatment of immunological diseases. The drug utilizes a proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) or molecular glue modality to induce the targeted degradation of Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 6 (STAT6). STAT6 is a key transcription factor in the IL-4 and IL-13 signaling pathways, which are central to Type 2 inflammation and the pathogenesis of allergic and autoimmune conditions such as asthma and atopic dermatitis. By degrading the STAT6 protein rather than simply inhibiting its activity, PH051 aims to provide a more potent and durable therapeutic effect in modulating immune responses. As of early 2024, the candidate is in the preclinical stage of development.
