Overview
Phagestaph is a bacteriophage-based therapeutic developed by Biochimpharm for the treatment of purulent inflammatory diseases caused by *Staphylococcus aureus*. The product contains a sterile filtrate of phage lysates that specifically target and lyse *Staphylococcus* bacteria. It is used to treat a variety of conditions, including skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, and surgical site infections. As a phage therapy, it offers a targeted approach that minimizes disruption to the commensal microbiome and provides an alternative or adjunct to traditional antibiotics, particularly in the context of antimicrobial resistance.
