Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phago-SES is a bacteriophage cocktail developed by Eliava Biopreparations for the treatment and prophylaxis of pyo-inflammatory and enteric infections. The preparation consists of a mixture of sterile phage lysates that specifically target and lyse three bacterial pathogens: *Staphylococcus*, *Streptococcus*, and enteropathogenic *Escherichia coli*. As a biologic therapeutic, it functions by infecting and destroying target bacteria without disrupting the host's natural microbiome. It is indicated for various conditions, including otolaryngological diseases such as otitis, tonsillitis, and rhinitis, as well as respiratory infections like bronchitis and pneumonia. Phago-SES is approved and commercially available in Georgia, where it is typically administered as a liquid solution for local or internal use.
