Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phago-Staph is a bacteriophage preparation developed by the G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology and manufactured by Eliava Biopreparations. It consists of a purified phage lysate specifically designed to target and lyse Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. As a biological therapeutic, it is used for the treatment and prophylaxis of a wide range of staphylococcal infections, including respiratory, surgical, urogenital, and enteric infections, as well as purulent-septic conditions in newborns. The preparation is administered via multiple routes such as oral, topical, injection, and nebulization, providing a targeted alternative or adjunct to traditional antibiotic therapy.
