Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PharaFerro is a comprehensive multi-ingredient hematinic supplement designed for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia and associated micronutrient deficiencies. Its formulation features carbonyl iron, a highly pure form of elemental iron that provides superior bioavailability and a more favorable safety profile compared to conventional iron salts, significantly reducing gastrointestinal side effects. The product is fortified with Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to enhance the intestinal absorption of iron. It also includes Folic Acid and Vitamin B12, which are essential cofactors for DNA synthesis and the maturation of red blood cells, as well as Zinc and Biotin to support cellular metabolism and tissue health. Developed by Pharaonia Pharmaceuticals, PharaFerro is frequently utilized in clinical settings for patients with increased iron demands, such as during pregnancy, lactation, or recovery from chronic blood loss.
