Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phardol Thermo is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical balm developed by ERWO Pharma for the treatment of muscle tension, back pain, and joint discomfort. The formulation is designed to provide a localized warming effect (rubefacient) to stimulate blood circulation and relax tight muscles. Its primary active ingredient is an extract from *Capsicum frutescens*, which contains capsaicinoids that act as agonists for the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) receptor. This activation leads to a sensation of heat and subsequent desensitization of nociceptive nerve fibers. The product also contains camphor and essential oils such as rosemary and eucalyptus oil, which contribute to its analgesic and soothing properties.
