Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PharmaBiome's Cancer IO program is a preclinical-stage microbiome therapy consisting of a rationally assembled bacterial consortium. Developed by the Swiss biotechnology company PharmaBiome, the therapy is designed to modulate the gut microbiome to enhance the host's anti-tumor immune response. The consortium is produced using a proprietary co-culture technology in bioreactors, ensuring a stable and functional mixture of bacterial strains. It is intended to be used as an adjunct to existing cancer immunotherapies, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors, to improve patient response rates by addressing microbiome-mediated resistance or lack of efficacy.
