Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PharmaBiome's GvHD bacterial consortium is an investigational live biotherapeutic product (LBP) consisting of a rationally assembled group of bacterial strains. Developed by the Swiss biotech PharmaBiome, the therapy is designed to treat or prevent Graft-versus-Host Disease (GvHD) in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The consortium aims to restore the diversity and functional balance of the intestinal microbiome, which is typically disrupted by intensive conditioning regimens and antibiotic use. By re-establishing a healthy microbial ecosystem, the treatment seeks to modulate the host immune system and reduce the inflammatory processes that drive GvHD. The strains are produced using a proprietary co-cultivation technology that ensures the stability and functional synergy of the consortium.
